The most intense start to a campaign I've had yet. With only one weekend in between the first 2 rounds. And both being a packed 2 day event meant it was a lot to learn in such a short period of time. With no room for error. We managed to take what we learned from Brands and made a massive step forward for Misano. Our driver change and pit stops were on point this weekend as well as my Quali performance.

What made Misano extra difficult was that it had the extra element of Night Quali and a night race with no prior night practice. So this meant I was going straight into Quali having to relearn my references in one lap as I only had 3 laps on the new tyre. I managed to adjust to this very well by putting the car P1 in class but unfortunately I made a mistake on turn 6 and went slightly outside the track limits and my lap got disallowed. And had traffic on my final lap. Nevertheless it was a great performance considering all the variables.

When we moved onto the Race 1, we made steady progress throughout the race and made a great pitstop to achieve multiple overtakes in the pits and with solid pace and overtakes in my stint we managed our first Podium of the year. A solid result especially with such a steep learning curve in such a competitive championship.

Race 2 was a fantastic race for me, my first night race start. Managing to navigate through some incidents and going straight on the attack making multiple overtakes in the opening laps and setting some very fast and consistent race laps with well orchestrated overtakes throughout followed by a fast pitstop. We got the car back to a podium position, unfortunately due to a track limit infringement our car got a time penalty which dropped us off the podium. A tough one to swallow but our performance is there so the small mistakes just need to be ironed out and I believe we will be on top in the next one.

On to the next 😉 - Round 3 sprint at Hockenheimring, Germany on 19-21/07/24!
