Reece Barr made his car racing debut in Mini Challenge UK 2017. The 17 year-old from Donegal, Ireland now based between Silverstone, England and Eppan, Italy will join Target Competition for his move to TCR Europe for 2018.

Reece closed his 2017 campaign as Vice-champion while also securing the Rookie and Retailers Cups in a very competitive Mini Challenge UK Championship. Reece tested with back to back champions Target at Adria, Italy which give him the opportunity to convince the top TCR team and secure his seat for 2018.

Andreas Gummerer  team director at Target Competition confirmed, “Having Reece has part of the driver line up for 2018 is very exciting and at just 17; Reece certainly has a very bright future ahead”

2018 is off to a really exiting start with Reece joining the BRDC Rising Stars programme and confirming his Hyundai seat with Target for the European TCR Campionship.

John Pratt performance driver coach at Andy Priaulx Sports Management added, “Reece deserves the chance to step up to this challenge as he has put the effort in throughout 2017 and impressed when it counted to land the seat with Target; working with Reece over the past twelve months has been a pleasure and he is very serious about his opportunity and has what it takes to be a great racing driver"
